The Company deriving their profit in the form of a Commission on the conti act expenditure, take no advantage as contractors from any of the works they execute, but give every assistance to laudowner3 in economising the outlay, bv arrangement^ for the making ob bricks or tiles on the estate, employing such approved materials as the estate may furnish, providing for the haudage by the tenants, ecc.
They also facilitate arrangements for the employment of the landowuer's money to execute the works, or for its provision tbrough the medium of his bauker, the interest on the money so employed being in either case included in the amount charged on the estate.
Where it is desired to charge any ecclesiastical benefico with an outlay in improvements, the consents in writing of the bishop of the diocese and the patron of the living are required under the Act. A form is supplied for this purpose.
No advance can be made, and no charge on the estate effected, for any expenditure in works commenced before the application to the Company.
The cost of ordinary repairs cannot be charged on an estate, but approved alterations of, and additioris to, existing buildiugs are classed as new buildings. Portions of the old materials may also be made use of with the sanction of the Inclosure Commissioners.
